Note that your project has an ID, usually consisting of an adjective, a noun, and a number. Click on “My first project” in the top blue bar, just to the right of “Google cloud services”. When you activate GCS, you are assigned a project named “My first project”. You can think of it as your root folder, since you will most likely only ever need one unless you are a business or a developer (in principle, though, you can have as many projects as you like). The largest “unit” of your GCS activities is your project. You will also get taken to a page now, that confirms that you want to join the workspace which we have created for this class.Step 3: Link your project to your billing account You will get a confirmation email to the email address you have signed up for. You can use any name, usually firstname-lastname is a good bet! When you have chosen a name click on ‘create account’. You will then be asked to provide a name for your account. This will take you to the following page:įill in your details like I did mine, and then click sign up. If you want to just create an account, click on the “Sign up” link. You can sign in with a GitHub account (if you have one) or with your Google account (this is probably a very easy way), or you can just create an account. If you don’t already have an account you will see this: This will take you to the R Studio Cloud page and prompt you to log in (if you already have an account it might just take you straight to the workshop page!). You can find this on the course website, but I will also include it here: First, follow the link to the workspace I have created for this workshop. In order to participate on the course, you will need to sign up to R Studio Cloud.
